Hi Readers,
Inawashiro, and of course, Bandai-san is having lots of snow, and that together with the ice shaped by the wind along Lake Inawashiro is attracting thousands of visitors.
Winter has, in other words been great for skiers, snowboarders, those just wishing to see the sights and photographers. Mayumi and I have also enjoyed taking winter photos [some you can see on our blog] as we have enjoyed meeting and looking after our winter guests.
So it is not too late to enjoy this winter wonderland. Please come!

Hi Readers,

A week ago, I was still taking autumn photos in and around Inawashiro. Now it is snowing. Quite a dramatic change !
We look forward to a normal winter to please the skiers and snowboarders, and to please those of you,like us, who think the winter landscape is very beautiful.

It is also time for winter soups, and old fashioned English puddings, and we look forward to those lucky few that would have our special Christmas menu, as we look forward to all our guests

Hi Readers,

Summer brought lots of lovely people to the INN. We really enjoyed their stay, and from their comments they enjoyed themselves too.

Now we are looking forward to Autumn, my favourite season for many reasons, especially for the sensational Autumn colours and the crisp Autumn air in the mornings and evenings. It is almost time to start using fresh mushrooms in my cooking. Very much looking forward to that too!

大忙しの夏が終わりました！たくさんの新しいお客様、2回目、3回目と繰り返し来てくださったお客様、本当にありがとうございました。残暑が珍しく長く続いていた猪苗代も、ようやく秋らしい風が吹き始めました。ずっと鳴いていたせみの声に変わり、鈴虫が鳴いています。磐梯山もこれから紅葉に向けて、とてもいい時期。写真大好きオ−ナ−が、今日も出かけたくてむずむずしてるみたいです。。仕事が終わってからにして！？　Ｍａｙｕｍｉ

Hi Readers,

I have already been swimming in the fresh water of Lake Inawashiro. It is a special feeling looking at the sand at the bottom of the lake, then the green of the hills nearby and the blue of distant mountains. Such a lovely moment, looking around while still in the water.
We have also explored some of our mountains, and climbed Bandai-san, but we have also been looking after our guests and family who have visited us, so it has been an eventful start to summer with busy August to come.
And before I go, I must mention Summer is also great for cooking as I can use our picked-on -the -day local vegetables

暑かったり寒かったりの春が過ぎて、ようやく気温も落ち着き特に今日みたいにいいお天気の日は、ピクニックに最適！と言う季節になりました。An English Inn　の近くには、のんびりくつろげるところがたくさんあって、時間さえあればお弁当を持って出かけます。イギリス人のくせに（？）おにぎり大好きな主人はそれと水があれば十分なので、準備にも時間がかからず楽チンです。車にはいつもピクニックマットを積んでます！外で風に吹かれながら読書をして過ごす夏の午後。。かなりいい気分になれます。お勧めの場所、紹介できますので気軽にお尋ね下さい。Ｍａｙｕｍｉ　

雪の少なかった冬がようやく終わって、猪苗代湖の白鳥も飛んで行きました。Ａｎ　Ｅｎｇｌｉｓｈ　Ｉｎｎの庭の桜のつぼみも少しずつふくらんでいるようです。今、駐車場横にある川のふちにふきのとうがいっぱい出ています。磐梯山の上の方はまだ白いですが、確実に春が近づいているようで、何だか嬉しくなります！これからは、山菜取りや春の写真撮影で忙しくなりそうです。早く桜が咲いてくれないかな、楽しみ。。　まゆみ

Spring has arrived, and farmers are getting busy preparing their fields and vegetable hot houses. The swans have left, replaced by smaller birds, and tress are beginning to show signs of life. It is a magical time as nature awakens from its winter sleep.

Dear Readers

We have been lucky. It snowed last night and is snowing today to freshen up the ski fields. Compared to some other ski resort areas of Honshu we have had a reasonable winter for skiers. However, sadly, many skiers have sayed away this season.. They must be getting the wrong information. We look forward to seeing you before spring, and indeed we look forward to our beautiful spring as well.

Winter snow was a ittle late starting, but there is good cover on our snow fields and we are enjoying our white world again. We have had some fantastic guests over Christmas and New Year, and we are looking forward to meeting skiers in the next month or so. See you !

Summer was quite short this year, where we are, anyway. The air conditioners in our rooms were only needed for one week. Still, it was a lovely summer, and our guests seemed to enjoy it very much.
Autumn, my favourite season is here, the chestnuts are dropping to the ground and the air is crisp in the mornings and at night The light near perfect for photography.I Love it! And hope you do too. Hope to see you here.

短い夏が終わり、ここ1週間、朝夕と冷え込むようになってきました。昼間はまだ気温が高いので半袖でOKですが、夜は肌寒い程です。空気が澄んでいて、今日も磐梯山がくっきりと見えます。先日も登山目的のお客様が来られましたが、いい時期ですね。私達は、先日、スカイラインの途中の浄土平から一切経山に登り、魔女の瞳とも呼ばれる吾妻五色沼を見てきました！緑がかった深い青色の沼は本当にため息が出るほどのきれいさで、感激しました。急なので、少し大変ですが絶対にお勧めです！！まゆみ

本当に長い梅雨でしたね。先週までは、寒いくらいだった猪苗代も今は太陽の光が一杯です。それでも風は涼しくて気持がよく、まさに高原のお天気ですね。これで２度目の猪苗代の夏になりますが、やっぱり過ごしやすいです。外から聞こえるのはせみの声と川の水の音。暑いのが苦手な私ですが、こういう夏はいいなと思います。でも、いつもこの時期に落ちるはずの体重に変化がなくて、このまま馬肥ゆる秋を迎えるのはちょっとこわいです！？
